I would NOT kiss the Blarney Stone

Well… I wouldn’t kiss the bar called The Blarney Stone in Lethbridge Alberta. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice place; Just not the favorite comedy venue for comedians touring Western Canada. Personally I like performing in a bar like this. It is not an easy show and who doesn’t like a challenge? With me on this show was Brendon Clark, a comic who currently lives in Calgary but used to live in Lethbridge. Always nice to go home to perform and he did a good job for his old friends for sure. His friend Wally came with us on the trip. Wally is a Montreal Canadians fan so I verbally tortured him for most of the trip. Thankfully, the Habs lost that night.

In the past, the comics were given accommodations at The El Rancho Hotel. I can understand why some people were scared by this place. The gaps under the doors of the rooms were almost 3 inches, the phones never worked, the cleanliness was questionable and the front desk staff were simply stupid. So it was a wonderful surprise to be put up in The Sandman Hotel this time. You know it is a nice place when you need to use your key-card to access the elevator. It was clean and had a great view of the city... well, at least it had a view of something other than a rusted out dumpster.

HA! I'm jealous of the hotel upgrade. I've done Lethbridge 8 or 9 times and I credit them for my thick skin.
